Office of Academic Affairs 

 

  The Office of Academic Affairs is responsible for student admissions, course enrollment, academic records management, student transcripts, academic-related certificates, teaching and learning development, faculty evaluations, etc.
To carry out the above mentioned responsibilities, the Office has set up the following divisions and centers:
Admission Section, Registration Section, Curriculum Section, Center for Teaching Resourcest, Center for Faculty Development, Center for Education in Medical Simulation, Clinical Education Committee.

Office of Student Affairs

 

  The Office of Student Affairs is responsible for student campus life. We assist students on financial aid, dormitory, extracurricular activities and service learning and also care on the safety of students from campus security and consulting service. Meanwhile, we encourage students to implement their
development of careering and leadership.

Office of General Affairs

 

  Office of General Affairs can be said to be the chief manager of the whole university.
Practicing the business of general affairs, cashier, property management, construction and maintenance.
Our Policy is: Professional, Efficient, Innovative and Sustainability.

Office of Research and Development

 

 

The Office of Research and Development has three centers, namely Research Promotion Center (RPC), Core Facility Center (CFC), and Laboratory Animal Center (LAC). 

The RPC maintain all policies and procedures related to all academic related issues, including research grants, awards, and integrity. The RPC administration teams are designed to provide services from identifying potential funding sources to professional scientific illustration.

The CFC supports innovative research by providing professional services, research instrumentation, and highly-trained staff that would be too costly or impractical for a single laboratory or department to provide. The CFC manages seven individual cores, namely Imaging Core, Mass Spec. Core, Flow Cytometry Core, NMR Core, Bioinformatic Core, Natural Compound Core and newly established Single Cell Genomics Core.

The LAC houses two animal husbandry areas for mice, rats, hamster, rabbit, guinea pigs and leghorn chickens. The LAC is also the primary small animal and translational imaging resource, and provide access to state-of-the-art preclinical imaging instruments to the TMU research community. The live preclinical imaging instruments are optimized for small animal work (including ultrasound, MRI, CT, and PET), and are aimed to reduce animal usage.

 

Office of Information Technology

 

 

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) consists of four sections including System Development, Education Technology, Networking, and Information Support.

The main tasks of OIT include management and maintenance of computer hardware and sofware, and providing communication and network services.

Additionally, in accordance with the school's development strategy, OIT is responsible for the development and maintenace various systems, including teacher evaluation system, digital learning platform (I'm@TMU) and etc.

 

Office of Global Engagement

 

 

The Office of Global Engagement (OGE) supports the university's internationalization efforts by working with faculty members, students, and higher education institutions around the world to facilitate collaborative activities and build mutually beneficial partnerships. Consisting of four sections including International Students, Global Partnerships, International Research, and Global Initiatives, we guide international students to pursue their further education at TMU, provide mobility learning and virtual exchange opportunities to expand students' international experience, develop partnerships and transnational research collaboration, and promote TMU impact-making achievements to the higher education community. 

Office of Secretariat

 

The Secretariat consists of 「Secretariat Affairs Section」, 「University Planning Section」,「Public Relation & Publishing Section」 and 「University archives」 in support of the role of President, Vice Presidents and relative affairs. 
The Secretariat is responsible for University development and planning, University-level meetings, school anniversary celebrations, faculty, staff, and students appeals or complaints, affairs of Gender Equity Education Committee, while at the same time enhancing the public image of the University and operating special collections and TMU Archives. 

 

 

 

Office of Human Resource 

 

 

Office of Human Resource consists of Human Resource Service Section and Human Resource Development Section, responsible for faculty and staffs' Recruitments/Appointments, Promotion & Evaluation, Salary & Insurance/Retirement Pension, Incentives, Benefit, Attendance, Training & Development, and Leader/Senior Executive Development. In addition, HR oversees university-level faculty and staffs evaluation meetings, labor-management meetings, welfare meetings, etc., as well as promoting HR related plans and development.
Our mission is building dreams and unleashing talent, to become a professional partner who provide an open-minded working environment to demonstrate the true worth, high-efficiency services, and generous employee benefits to grow, to value the unique attributes and potential of everyone. Also, complemented by a comprehensive talent development mechanism that allows individuals to continue strengthening their own professionalism and expand their horizons at work.

 

Office of Finance

 

  Our unit was originally called 「Office Of Accounting」, and it was renamed to 「Office Of Finance」in 2012.
Office Of Finance has two sections:「 Accounting Section」 and「 Financial Planning Section」.

Office of Environmental Protection and Occupational Safety

 

  The Office of Environmental Protection and Occupational Safety aims to protect and promote the safety and health of all students and faculty by establishing a campus safety and health management system and shaping a culture of self-management and continuous improvement.

Office of Public Affairs

 

The Public Affairs Office was founded, hoping to recruit human resources with professional knowledge, enthusiasm and connections in an attempt to build a high-quality operation team. Utilizing the resources of TMU and three affiliated hospitals (TMU Hospital, Wan Fang Medical Center, and Shuang Ho Hospital), we build good public relations on and off campus.
In addition to the main TMU Alumni Association, there are currently sixteen charter TMU alumni associations in Taiwan, two in China, an additional nine in Asia and Oceania, and eleven in North America. The alumni associations work to aid the continued development of TMU. Assistance includes donations to build new campus buildings and facilities, the establishment of scholarship funds, and the holding of alumni forums to share their experience with current TMU students.

 

Office of Business Development

 

  Office of Business Development includes  Industrial Laision Center, Technology Transfer Center, Technology Commercialization Center, and Div. of Business Management  , which leading TMU to accomplish the development of translational medicine in strategies with its rich medical resources. Marketing to domestic and international markets, let innovative research be transformed into real industry applications and expand the biotechnology landscape.

Office of Human Research

 

  Office of Human Research, OHR was established at August 1, 2013. The main goals of OHR are to fully integrate the resources of Taipei Medical University and its three affiliated hospitals to improve the subject protection and the capacity of pharmaceutical biotech development. The integration offices, include TMU-Joint IRB, Joint Clinical Research Center, Data Safety Management section (DSMS) and Joint Biobank of OHR, provide a better services and cross-communication to enhance TMU R&D capacity.

Office of Legal Affairs

 

  The predecessor of Taipei Medical University (TMU) Office of Legal Affairs was the Legal Center under the secretariat, which was a secondary unit established in March 2016, with the main purpose of dealing with reforms in the university structure and diversification of development.
However, with the continuous increase and expansion of business and services provided by the center, the center was upgraded to a primary unit in May 2017 and became known as the Office of Legal Affairs.

Office of Data Science

 

  The Office of Data Science (ODS) is divided in four centers: Clinical Data Center, Health Data Analytics and Statistics Center, Institutional Research Center and Bioinformatics Center.
The mission of the ODS is to integrate the TMU Clinical Research Database (TMUCRD), TMU Institutional Research Database (TMUIRD), Omics Data, National Health Insurance Research Database (NHIRD) and the open data from the government. We also provide statistical consultation and analysis services for students, faculty and staff in TMU. We aim to strengthen research collaboration with domestic and foreign biomedical industries and increase the value of research. This ultimately improves the quality of Taiwan's medical treatment and facilitates improvement in the medical industry.

Library

 

 

The Taipei Medical University Library (TMUL) was established in 1962. It was originally located in the Mu-Shan Learning Center with an area of only 500 m2. In 2004, the library was moved to the United Medical building with an area of 3,300 m2 where it currently contains about 150,000 volumes of books and bound journals within its collection. In addition to circulation services, the library also provides high quality information services such as reference services, inter-library loans, and library instruction. Over the years, two branches of the library have been opened in Wan-Fan Hospital (1997) and Shuang-Ho Hospital (2008). The TMUL's award-winning reputation is gaining recognition and branching out.

Center for Management and Development

 

 

The Center for Management and Development (CMD) is divided in four divisions and one center : the Operational Performance division, the Medical Administration division, the Information Development division, the Group Purchasing division and the International Healthcare center.
The mission of the CMD is to promote the unification of resources and development of the TMU medical system, in order to enhance the management functionality and operational output of the affiliated hospitals.
Ten major functional teams are responsible for the planning, development and promotion of various aspects. In recent years, the TMU medical system has developed into a university with six affiliated hospitals, which is equivalent to a medium to large enterprise.

Office of Continuing & 
Extension Education

  Our Office is awarded the "TTQS Quality Training System Evaluation” 
Training Institution-Silver Award by the Workforce Development Agency of the Ministry of Labor,
Executive Yuan. In the future, we are committed to providing diversified, innovative, and professional continuing education services to promote community education and societal growth.
We aim to continue to improve the quality of continuing education under the philosophy of continuous improvement so as to establish TMU as the leading brand in professional training and continuing education.
