The visit, scheduled from January 15 to 19, commenced with a meeting at the Taipei Representative Office in the UK today (1/15), where they engaged with the newly appointed ambassador, Vincent Chin-Hsiang Yao, and the overseas government officials to discuss future opportunities for bilateral collaboration in higher education and biomedical technology development. The heads of the science and technology and education divisions also provided recommendations and information on government subsidy resources, such as the Ministry of Education’s Top 100 Scholarship and TEEP, National Science and Technology Coucil’s Dragon Gate Program and IIPP. Following the fruitful discussion, Ambassador Yao hosted a banquet, inviting the leaders of the TMU delegation and Dr. Po-Heng (Henry) Lee from Imperial College London to join for lunch.
Over the next four days, Taipei Medical University will visit the University of Oxford and King’s College London to explore potentials for joint working in the fields of research and education. The delegation from Taipei Medical University includes the president, leaders from the university and its affiliated hospitals, alumni representatives, and international education professionals. Aiming at strengthening the university’s collaboration with UK HEIs, the delegation visit is expected to identify areas of mutual interest, leading to increased international collaboration and exchange in biomedical education.
