The Office of Global Engagement (OGE) at Taipei Medical University is partnering up with IISMA as part of the program called TMU-STEP (Taipei Medical University Short-Term Education Program). For 16 weeks, international students from the IISMA program could choose courses from a wide variety of English-taught classes in Health Sciences.

This marks the start of IISMA awardees which includes orientation in the main campus located in Xinyi and the second campus located in Shuangho. The goal of this event was to kick start the first journey of IISMA awardees in TMU as the first IISMA awardee to TMU and the first international student that join TMU STEP on-site program.

The orientation also serves as an introduction to the student’s life in TMU which includes all the facilities given such as libraries, swimming pool, gym, and etcetera. All awardees were also given an access card and a goodie bag.

The main purpose of IISMA awardees is to absorb education be it from culture, study, and research. Exchanging culture and engaging with the local students and local people will surely bring lots of new insight. Not only that, inspiring a new generation while also sharing information about life in TMU is also a goal set in mind by this partnership.

The IISMA program offers students the chance to study abroad, similar to the goals of TMU-STEP. With these aligned objectives, a partnership between Taiwan and Indonesia is highly anticipated. This collaboration will provide Indonesian students with valuable knowledge and experiences that are not available at their home universities, ultimately contributing to the advancement of Indonesia’s culture, technology, and prosperity.
