Taipei Medical University (TMU) delegation visited the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Oxford on January 18, 2024. They engaged in fruitful discussions with the department head, Professor Kevin Talbot, and six principal investigators on potential collaborations in cutting-edge research areas, including preclinical and clinical neuroprotection and treatment, retinal gene therapies, artificial intelligence applications in dementia treatment, and sleep medicine.

In the afternoon, the delegation proceeded to central London to meet with King's College London. Professor Richard Trembath, Senior Vice President for Health and Life Sciences of King's College London, emphasized the importance of students possessing interdisciplinary learning capabilities. He expressed a commitment to deepening collaboration with TMU, offering students more opportunities to experience studying and living in Asia. Additionally, Professor Sanjukta Deb from the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences introduced a variety of exchange programs, welcoming TMU doctoral students for exchanges and short-term scholar visits, anticipating increased academic exchanges in the future.
